Here is what Gonzaga currently has on tap for nonconference:
- Nov. 27: vs. Auburn (Orlando)
- Nov. 29: vs. Houston/Texas Tech (Orlando)
- Dec. 2: vs. Tennessee (Orlando — Jimmy V Classic)
- Dec. 5: vs. Baylor (Indianapolis)
- Dec. 19: vs. Iowa (Sioux Falls, S.D.)
There’s a lot to unpack here. To begin, Baylor and Iowa are largely viewed as top 10 teams nationally; Houston and Texas Tech are also capable of high NCAA Tournament seeds, and Tennessee and Auburn welcome the No. 4 and No. 9 recruiting classes, respectively.
Your average team isn’t winning more than two games in this stretch. Even elite teams like Gonzaga could slip once or twice.
