The DPI Forecast predicts game scores based on each team’s tempo and efficiency, as well as the location of each game. The games are sorted by our Heat Index metric, which uses ranking and statistical information to determine the most exciting matchups each day. Information is also provided about the overall quality of teams (Temperature) and the relative distance between them (Range).
Preseason baseline efficiency numbers were based on historical rates over the past five seasons and adjusted for offseason roster changes. The early projections will be quite conservative until more empirical data flows into the system.
Games involving non-Division I schools are not included in The DPI Forecast.
