UConn has put together the most dominant Final Four run since, well, last year’s UConn team. Will the Huskies become the first back-to-back champs since 2007?

There was no national championship hangover for UConn this year.

The Huskies are 35-3 — and counting — and have both the nation’s top offense and a top-five defense. Tristen Newton is an All-American, Donovan Clingan is a monster on defense, and head coach Dan Hurley is still not satisfied.

Hurley made a big deal about UConn’s perceived “tough region,” but the results didn’t bear that out. The Huskies are winning NCAA Tournament games by an average of 27.8 points, and if they were to win the next two by a total of just 19 points, they would set the record for the highest-ever scoring margin by an NCAA Tournament champion.

The Huskies aren’t looking ahead, though. They are playing it game-to-game and dominating the opponents right in front of them. If they can do that for two more games, UConn will become the first back-to-back national champion since Florida won it all in 2006 and 2007.
