Biggest WCC basketball questions

Can Gonzaga finally win the National Championship?

It seems like Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs have been in the National Championship conversation for the better part of the last decade, with nothing to show for it. This season, however, Mark Few may have the talent and ceiling to back it up. While teams like Baylor and Villanova look to be incredibly talented, Gonzaga may be the team with the fewest holes entering the season.

Critics will continue to press Mark Few on his lack of National Championships until he finally wins one, and this may be his best opportunity to do so. With Corey Kispert , Drew Timme, Jalen Suggs, and even Joel Ayayi all eyeing NBA futures in next year’s draft, can they give Few his elusive title before they leave?

Can someone finally breakup the top trio?

Every preseason WCC writers do the same dance. They hype up a team as the biggest threat to break up the top three of Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s and BYU, only to eventually find all three at the top of the final conference standings. However, with Pepperdine’s dynamic duo and San Francisco’s incredibly high floor, Saint Mary’s might actually be at risk of dropping off the top line.
