(Photo by Ken Murray/Icon Sportswire) While some might look at the SWAC as an afterthought, here’s a storyline to draw your interest in this one: the top two seeds in the tournament never met during the regular season — nor did either one drop a game in conference play. For those of you keeping track at home, that means we could headed for a SWAC Championship Game featuring two undefeated league co-champions battling for bragging rights and a trip to the Big Dance. Talk about high stakes.
By virtue of finishing with two more victories, Prairie View A&M enters the tournament as the top seed, while Jackson State slides in as the No. 2 seed. Everything is lining up to provide one of the most interesting conference tournament championship games in recent memory.
