Monday’s Disaster Index
Marquette’s celebration Monday night was certainly warranted, but Illinois‘ self implosion allowed the Golden Eagles to secure the victory. The Illini led 58-46 with 10:14 left and converted just two field goals the rest of the way. Illinois guard Andre Curbelo finished 4-of-18 from the field with seven turnovers.
Tuesday’s Bracketology Watch
Saint Louis is 3-0 with wins over two bad D-1 squads and a D-2 team, but the Billikens have a shot for a major resume-booster at Memphis. The Tigers are poised to be a top team in the AAC and major factor nationally while SLU’s schedule is filled with possible slip-ups, such as Boise State, UAB, Belmont, Auburn and Drake. Notching a key victory would help set the tone for at-large contention.
