Missouri Valley Basketball: Season Preview 2020-21

Missouri Valley basketball awards predictions

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR:
sean east ii, bradley

Bradley has a few newcomers capable of competing for this award this season. With Second Team All-MVC point guard Darrell Brown having now graduated, the Braves need to find their replacement and most of their options are newcomers via the transfer market. Terry Nolan Jr. and Kevin McAdoo are also in the mix for Bradley, but I lean in favor of immediately eligible Sean East II. He is coming in from UMass and can be an elite passer with solid self-creation skills.

East was only a freshman last season but still managed to average 9.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in the Atlantic 10. He was inefficient as a scorer but that should improve with a year of experience under his belt. A couple of my other preseason candidates for this award include Tobias Howard (Indiana State) and Demarcus Sharp (Missouri State).
