TERRE HAUTE, IN - DECEMBER 03: North Dakota State Bison head coach David Richman looks on during the college basketball game between the North Dakota State Bison and the Indiana State Sycamores on December 3, 2019, at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. (Photo by Michael Allio/Icon Sportswire) The top four finishers in the Summit are separated by just two losses this season, which could pave way towards a hectic conference tournament in the coming days. South Dakota State has again locked up the league’s top seed but South Dakota, North Dakota State and Oral Roberts are right on SDSU’s heels.
The Summit’s AQ winner hasn’t won a first-round tournament game since 2014 when North Dakota State upset Oklahoma in overtime. However, three of the last five Summit winners provided major tests against higher seeds and the next upset could be right around the corner.
