Four teams compete for the NCAA Tournament seeding and at-large status while a dark horse could steal the automatic bid.
After San Diego State ran through the conference in 2020, the Mountain West has been much more crowded at the top this season. The Aztecs are still the leaders of the pack, but Colorado State, Utah State and Boise State have been in the mix throughout the year and continue to fight for their at-large profiles.
With a flurry of postponed games, makeup shockers, late-season drama and bad blood between the league’s contenders, the Mountain West tournament figures to be as exciting as ever. San Diego State is the only team that appears to be safely in the field with a week until Selection Sunday, so the rest of the bracket will do everything it can to fight for their tournament hopes.
